Meaning of the Nigeria flag

Green stands for agriculture and nature, white for peace and unity. Michael Taiwo Akinkunmi designed the flag in 1959 as a student in London; his first design still had a red sun on it.

The original is twice as wide as it is high, so on a 150 × 100 cm flag the stripes come out slightly wider.

Frequently asked questions about the Nigeria flag

How much does the Nigeria flag cost?

The Nigeria flag costs from €30,00. You will find the price of every size in the table above. Shipping is free from €60.

How quickly will I get my Nigeria flag?

We make your flag in 3–4 working days. Allow 5–7 working days in total until it arrives.

Which size Nigeria flag should I choose?

For a facade pole or balcony, choose 60 × 40 to 120 × 80 cm. 150 × 100 cm is the standard facade flag. For a 6-metre flagpole, 225 × 150 cm is the usual size.

Can I put a name or text on the Nigeria flag?

Yes, for free. Tap ‘Create your Nigeria flag’ and then ‘Add text’. You will see right away how your flag looks.

Can you see the flag from both sides?

Yes. The ink goes through the fabric, so on the back you see the flag in mirror image. Want a separate design on each side, for example Nigeria + Belgium? Choose the double-sided flag.

Can the flag handle wind and weather?

Yes. The fabric is 115 g/m² polyester, UV-resistant and wind-resistant up to about 55 km/h. Do take it in during a storm.
