Meaning of the Esperanto flag

A green flag with a white canton bearing a green star, the 'verda stelo'. Green stands for hope, white for peace and neutrality, and the five points of the star for the five continents.

The flag was adopted in 1905 at the first World Esperanto Congress in Boulogne-sur-Mer.
