Meaning of the Turkish flag

Red with a white crescent and star, in Turkish 'ay yıldız'. The flag goes back to that of the Ottoman Empire; in 1936 a law fixed its exact shape and proportions.

According to an old legend, it is the reflection of the moon and a star in a pool of blood after a battle.

Can you see the flag from both sides?

Can the flag handle wind and weather?

Yes. The fabric is 115 g/m² polyester, UV-resistant and wind-resistant up to about 55 km/h. Do take it in during a storm.
