Meaning of the Aruba flag

Light blue with two narrow yellow stripes near the bottom and a red star with a white border in the top corner. Blue stands for the sea and the sky; the star is the island itself, with four points for the four directions its people come from.

The flag has been in use since 18 March 1976, a day Aruba still celebrates as Anthem and Flag Day.
