Apart from 150 × 90 cm, all sizes have a 3:2 ratio. Flame-retardant fabric (B1) is often required in and on public buildings, schools, cafés and restaurants.

Meaning of the Belgian flag

Black, yellow and red in vertical stripes. The colours come from the arms of the old Duchy of Brabant: a golden lion on a black field, with red claws and tongue. The flag has belonged to Belgium since independence in 1830; the stripes have been vertical since 1831.

Officially the ratio is 13:15, almost square. For flying on a house, 2:3 is the most common, just like our 150 × 100 cm flag.
